Boulevard strives to publish only the finest in fiction, poetry, and non-fiction (essays, interviews, etc.). Therefore we ask that you send only your best work. While we frequently publish writers with previous credits, we are very interested in publishing less experienced or unpublished writers with exceptional promise. If you have practiced your craft and your work is the best it can be, send it to Boulevard.
As with any magazine, before submitting, read several recent issues to get a feel for style, content, quality, and form of the work we publish. Sample issues can be purchased for $10.00 each (please include five first-class stamps for postage). Our subscription rates are as follows: $20/3 issues (double issues count as one issue); $27/6 issues; $30/9. (For subscriptions outside of the US add $10.) Please make checks payable to Opojaz, Inc.

Poetry Contest for Emerging Poets - $15.00
$1,000 and publication in Boulevard awarded for the winning group of three poems by a poet who has not yet published a book of poetry with a nationally distributed press.
Rules:
The poems may be a sequence or unrelated. All entries must be submitted by June 1, 2012. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but previously accepted or published work is ineligible. Entries will be judged by the editors of Boulevard magazine. No one editorially or financially affiliated with Boulevard can enter the contest. No manuscripts will be returned.
Entry fee is $15 per group of three poems, and $15 for each additional group of three poems. Entry fee inclues a one-year subscription to Boulevard.
Author's name, address, and telephone number, in addition to the titles of the three poems, should appear on page one of the first poem.
The winning poems will be published in the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 issue of Boulevard. All entries will be considered for publication and for payment at our regular rates.

Short Fiction Contest for Emerging Writers - $15.00
Size limit: 8,000 words
$1,500 and publication in Boulevard awarded to the winning story by a writer who has not yet published a book of fiction, poetry, or creative non-fiction with a nationally distributed press.
RULES
All entries must be submitted by December 31, 2012. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but previously accepted or published work is ineligible. Entries will be judged by the editors of Boulevard magazine. Due to the number of submissions, we cannot respond to each writer individually. Each author will receive an acknowledgement of receipt but will need to check the website for notification of the winner.
Entry fee is $15 for each individual story, with no limit per author. Entry fee includes a one-year subscription to Boulevard.
Author's name, address, and telelphone number, in addition to the story's title and "Boulevard Emerging Writers Contest," should appear on page one. Cover sheets are not necessary.
The winning story will be first announced on the website and then published in the Spring or Fall 2013 issue.
